About us

The department of Electrical Engineering was established in the year 1995 with an objective to develop professionals through skill education with a sanction intake of 60 students under SCTE & VT, Odisha. It offers diploma engineering in Electrical Engineering. The broad-based diploma curriculum exposes students to multiple aspects of Electrical Engineering including Power Electronics, Power Systems, and Electrical Machines, control system and renewable energy. The department has well equipped laboratories of Circuit Theory Lab, Electrical Machine Lab & Power electronics Lab.

Academic Program

We offer Diploma in Electrical Engineering having sanctioned strength of 60.

This course is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, affiliated to Directorate of Technical Education & Training (DTE&T), Government of Odisha.


To be a progressive and advanced centre where Electrical engineering students will be provided quality technical knowledge and skill to meet the current and future Electrical engineering challenges, serving the society.


M1 Producing electrical engineers with quality technical skills matching contemporary industry needs to solve the problems of society and the nation.
M2 Providing students with an extensive education in electrical engineering fundamentals, applications, and design that prepares them for the practice of electrical engineering at the professional level.
M3 To imbibe social awareness and responsibility in students.
M4 Encouraging the students to pursue higher education and take competitive examinations and various career-oriented courses.
M5 Creating an ambiance where students can be involved with collaborative work with different industries and to promote the spirit of innovation, and life skills.
M6 Supporting students to carry out multidisciplinary projects & develop projects catering to social needs.
M7 Fostering the spirit of Entrepreneurship and realization of societal responsibility.


The students with Diploma in Electrical Engineering, within six years of education

PEO1 The students will be placed in various leading organisation with required technical knowledge and confidence.
PEO2 The students will be strong in entrepreneurial, communication and other soft skills that will make them fit to work globally as leaders, team members and contribute to nation building for the betterment of the society.
PEO3 The students will be strongly committed to the highest levels of professional ethics and focus on ensuring quality, adherence to public policy and law, safety, reliability and environmental sustainability in all their professional activities.


PO1 Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialisation to solve the engineering problems.
PO2 Problem Analysis: Identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.
PO3 Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
PO4 Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
PO5 Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.
PO6 Project Management:  Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.
PO7 Life-long learning: Ability to analyse individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.


PSO1 Learn/Strengthen a contemporary industry relevant skill appropriate to engineering domain.
PSO2 Model and analyse, design and realize physical systems, components or processes related to Electrical Engineering.
PSO3 Receive on-field 60 days internship training in appropriate industries related to Electrical engineering domain.
